PESARO, VISIT THE WELL-KNOWN “COAST OF THE HILLS”
The splendor of the nature of the so-called “Riverside of the Hills” is found in Pesaro, a place surrounded by sea and mountains. Continuing the route you can walk along Via Rossini, where Rossini’s house is located and the Pesaro Cathedral (Cattedrale) has an attractive Romanesque façade and a history that goes back beyond the current building. After a walk through the center you can go to the promenade to have a drink on the many terraces available. The Foglia River borders the city center and flows into the Adriatic near the port and the lighthouse of Pesaro.
On the other side of the railway line is a large public park, the Parco Miralfiore. Beyond the town there are two historic villas worth visiting if you have a rental car, they are Villa Caprile, which has an elegant garden with fountains (gardens open during the summer months), and the imposing Villa Imperiale.
